As a firm believer that art is a vital component to fully enjoying life, I have been working for the past 7 years to expand the artistic community in my hometown of DSM. I am a body painter, I celebrate the human body as a canvas to create an interactive art form that allows people to experience themselves as art, which I feel is effective in establishing a healthy self image.
Recently, I have been expanding my artistic form to "belly painting", or painting pregnant women in order to celebrate themselves and the coming of a new stage in their lives.
The paint I utilize for body painting overall, but especially in this particular artistic form, is safe for both the baby and the mother.  It's cosmetic grade, organic, paraben-free and hypoallergenic.  I typically utilize female photographers, make-up artists and hair stylists for each project, surrounding the mother and baby with feminine love and guidance.  Plus, we can take this show on the road!  No worries about how to get to a studio, it can be done in the mother's own home, or somewhere of her choosing in order to make it more comfortable for her.
Each art piece is special to each mother, so I begin with an interview to get an idea of what the mother wants before I begin painting.  Whether it's a nickname she and her partner have for the baby already, a name she already has picked out, or a figure or character that she really enjoys.  Each belly painting project is met with fresh and unique ideas in order to have it properly represent the mother and child!
Please contact me at the email below to set up an initial consultation meeting for your belly painting experience!  I look forward to meeting you and helping you celebrate bringing a new life into the world.

Rocking and rolling this month!
In the next two weeks I have two big shows coming up and as any typical person would be--I am EXCITED.
First and foremost in my vision is BODY BY SVEC+RAYGUN collaboration (featured to the left on my profile page).
Combining the wit and design talent of RAYGUN shirts and the paint and beautiful ladies of BODY BY SVEC has been nothing but a pleasure.
If you're in town and happen to feel like checking out one hellova a show-click on the link below to RSVP to the event page on facebook and get more details!

February is shaping up to be a busy month.
I will be featured in a KCCI special (a local news program), be participating in "Save Charlie" a charity event created to raise money for Charlie's transformation into a man, collaborating with "The greatest store in the universe" Raygun, continuing my project with Robin Svec with the "Ink Blot shoots"...should be wild.
Also, I should be setting up a site to buy prints off of soon.  Check back, I'll announce it when it's ready!

Sometimes it feels like most people are working for the weekend, me, I'm working so I can work on the weekend?
Whatever keeps the winter blues at bay.  :)

Hope everyone's January siesta is as refreshing as mine was.
